About a month ago, I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts (which I mention in this post), The Style Matters podcast. They were interviewing Sharon Santoni, the author of My Stylish French Girlfriends and the blogger behind My French Country Home. Sharon was on the show talking about her new book and her book tour in the U.S. It just so happened that she was going to be in Kansas City (were I live) that very week, signing books at a local home décor store called Nell Hills. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find a babysitter, so I didn’t make it to the event. But, the author mentioned her next stop was at a French Antiques store called Chateau Sonoma.
I am on vacation right now in the Sonoma area, and can you guess what my very first stop was? Yes, Chateau Sonoma. It is just as lovely as I hoped it would be. The store is located in a little shopping area called Cornerstone Sonoma. There are other home décor stores, a couple of clothing boutiques, a lovely café, a beautiful garden, and of course, wineries.
By far, Chateau Sonoma was my favorite shop in the courtyard. The store is beautifully curated with French antiques, French soaps, beautiful linens and pottery, as well as some locally made jewelry and jams.
I love the whimsy of the parasols on the ceiling.
Their kitchenware is absolutely beautiful.
I loved this piece of canvas hung on the wall.
My favorites are the stripes.
Just charming.
Several bars of soap are coming home with me. They are so beautiful and smell amazing!
I got to speak to the store owner, Sarah Anderson. She was very kind and gave me several recommendations for my time in Sonoma, including more antiques shopping! I asked about online shopping for Chateau Sonoma, and she said that they will have an online shop with limited items soon! You can sign up for their newsletter to be notified when the shop opens, and you can read more about the story behind Chateau Sonoma on their website. Make sure to follow their beautiful feed on Instagram!
I certainly am enjoying my vacation, and I’ll have more about my adventures on the blog soon! Follow along with me on Snapchat, happymeetshome.
