I love finding new products that make my life easier, better, or more fun in some way. Here are my top 5 February Favorites that I have used over and over this past month. By the way, this post is not sponsored by any of the companies I mention below. I have not received any of these products for free or been paid to give my opinion. I just really love and use all of them and want to share them with you! Some (not all) of them have affiliate programs, which means if you decide to purchase one of the products, I will receive a small commission for the purchase. This does not affect the price that you pay! Thanks for supporting the running of this blog!
Nickel & Suede Leather earrings.
Nickel and Suede is a Kansas City based company run by a woman named Kilee. I first discovered Kilee when I saw her amazing fashion pins on Pinterest. She is also the fashion blogger behind One Little Momma, one of my favorite blogs. She and her husband make amazing earrings out of leather, and they have become my go-to earrings. They are so light weight that I don’t even know that they are there most of the time, they are so unique and fun, and they come in a bunch of different colors, styles and textures. I have 2 pairs right now (I wear the size small) and they are basically on rotation every day. Here is the Tan Woven Leather pair I own. It looks like they aren’t making the black pair I have anymore, but the Smokey Eye is very similar. I think her new Spring Collection will probably be on my list of favorites for March, and I’m dying to try one of her leather cuffs!
Nozbe – My Free To Do List App
My husband introduced me to Nozbe. I am a to do list fanatic, but in the past have always wanted to keep it on paper. I still love how it feels to write down a list in a pretty notebook and then later cross off a completed task. But. I was forever thinking of new things to add to my list and realizing my paper list was downstairs and I was upstairs. Or I was away from home and had to try to remember until I got home again. Or I had too many pretty notebooks scattered all over the house with different lists in them! It was making me crazy. I knew I needed to reel this situation in and find a way to keep all of my lists for different projects and categories in one place. I also wanted something that I could easily identify the priorities for the day or week, so that when I mind-dumped 50 to do items onto my list, the immediately important ones didn’t get buried and forgotten about. Enter Nozbe. With this free app I can make different categories of to do lists (i.e. for the home, blogging, to buy) and then use a very simple ranking system that separates out for me the tasks I want to make a priority for the day or week. I love that it’s all in one place, and because it’s on my phone I almost always have it with me! Here’s a shot of one of my lists:
Have you all heard of Birchbox? It’s a monthly subscription service that sends you a box of 5 samples of luxury beauty products for $10. Originally I was scared of the word ‘luxury’. I’m sure I would love luxury products but I know my wallet wouldn’t. While there are some real luxury products in the box sometimes, more often than not they are just really nice products with a higher price tag than what you would find in a drugstore. I’m ok with that. They have a really great rewards system too, and I’ve gotten full size products for free before. Also, the sample sizes are really big! Twice in the 10 months I’ve been doing this I’ve received those little annoying foil packets, but they were actually bonuses on top of the 5 products they send every month. I’ve had their samples last as long as 3 months with regular use. I love this company so much, and have found several products that I now buy regularly from them. It’s just so fun to get the gorgeous little boxes full of surprise products! Isn’t this box beautiful? I’m a big fan of Rifle Paper Co. too.
But my favorite Birchbox product for February that I wanted to share with you is the Arrow Boost Color Enhancing lip balm. I have struggled my whole life with chapped lips and have tried countless chapsticks and lip balms to battle it. I’ve tried cheap ones, expensive ones, natural and not. This one is my absolute favorite. It feels kind of heavy going on, but in a good way, like it’s really moisturizing and sealing my lips. It stays on for a lot longer than others I’ve tried, and I don’t feel the need to reapply as often. Here is the fun bonus with this product: It reacts with your body’s ph balance to tint your lips just a little in a shade that is all you! How fun is that? I would buy this lip balm without that perk, but it’s still really cool. And now my husband won’t ‘borrow’ it and lose it…
I have written about Styled before, so I won’t go into all the things I love about it, you can read more about it in my post that’s part of my What I’m Reading series. But I’ll give you the high points. Emily Henderson is so engaging and I feel like I kind of know her after reading her book, even without ever reading her blog or seeing her on TV. She has a really fun style quiz, amazing photos of wide variety of styles, and great styling tips and tricks. Check her book out at the library or you can buy it on Amazon.
My last February Favorite is La Croix sparkling water. I want to stop drinking soda, but when I do, I miss the bubbles. This is a great alternative for me. Warning, there is so sweetener of any kind in here, so if you miss the high fructose corn syrup in soda, this is not for you! The water is ‘naturally essensed’, and while I’m not really sure what that means, I know that it tastes great to me and comes in a lot of fun flavors. Like Blackberry Cucumber, Coconut, and Apricot. My grocery store carries it but not all the flavors for some reason, so sometimes I have to go to Target, they have the most options.
There you have it, my Top 5 February Favorites that are making my life better in some way. I’d love to know if you try any of them, and let me know what’s making your life better right now too!
