What are Performance Fabrics?
You will probably be familiar with the brand Sunbrella, which got their start in outdoor furniture. Sunbrella fabrics are fade-proof, stain-resistant, and long-lasting. The outdoor version isn’t exactly comfortable or something you want to sit on in your living room though.
Several companies have taken the concept of outdoor fabric and refined it. Now it looks and feels like regular upholstery fabric, is soft and comfortable, and still just as durable. Win-Win.

How Do You Find Performance Fabric Furniture?
A lot of retailers now offer performance fabric as an option on select pieces. Sunbrella does have a fabric line that is great for indoors, there are also other companies that have a similar product. When you’re shopping for a piece of furniture, sometimes the fabric will be listed as performance, but also keep an eye out for names like Crypton, Inside Out, and Revolution.
