Winter White
Winter white is making me so happy right now. I never used to wear white. Ever. I didn’t know how to pull it off with my pale skin and blonde hair. I thought I would look like a ghost. If you aren’t sure how to wear white, especially in the winter, here are a few tips.
- wear white, but not too close to your face. Stay away from white turtlenecks. If wearing a white top, put something over it to create some contrast between the top and your face. A scarf, a cardigan, even a necklace or big, bold earrings can be enough to break up all the white.
- wear white pants. White pants are a great way to get out of the jeans/black pants rut. There’s really not much you can’t pair them with. If you’re a mom and are concerned about getting them dirty, my answer is simple. Bleach. Or Oxi Clean. White pants can feel precious, but so far I’ve been able to get all stains I’ve accrued from being a mom out of my pants.
There is one place I would recommend not wearing them though, and that is Sephora. Somehow, the last 2 times I’ve been to Sephora I had on these pants. Both times I left with makeup stains (I really don’t know how), but even then I was able to get those stains out. Don’t let fear of getting them dirty stop you from trying these!
- wear neutrals. My absolute favorite way to wear white right now is paired with neutrals, shades of tan, grey or beige. An easy way to do this is white top, white pants, and then a jacket/cardigan/sweater and pair of shoes that match or are similar in color. So simple but it really looks put together.
